Apple Search Ads Now De-Duplicates Keywords!

Gabe Kwakyi | July 11, 2023

Heads up: Apple has finally released a de-duplication feature, and it's about damn time.

Apple's de-duplicate works for uploading both regular keywords and negative keywords to the UI, and will provide a downloadable CSV file of all the duplicate keywords that were skipped.

Prior to this feature, uploading keywords would be a maddening task, requiring de-duplication effort prior to uploading, or else forcing the user to meet an annoying Apple error and be forced to correct, then re-upload.

CSV bulk uploads will not automatically de-duplicate, requiring you to manage that prior to uploading your bulk sheet.

Be careful when duplicating ad groups with high default CPT bids, or keywords with high CPT bids, as Apple will skip duplication of entities whose bids are higher than your target campaign's budget cap.
