Apple Search Ads Conversion Reporting Bug

Gabe Kwakyi | August 13, 2023

8/14/17 update: Search Ads conversions have been fixed and retroactively updated.

Following earlier technical difficulties around remarketing and login issues, Apple's Search Ads platform is experiencing more issues, this time in reporting conversions.

Around 3pm in the afternoon (UTC) on Saturday 8/12/17, Apple's conversion began reporting abnormally low numbers of conversions, and reports stopped recording conversions altogether on Sunday 8/13/17.

The good news is that MMPs are still reporting conversions, and that advertisers without MMPs can still optimize by guiding themselves via taps and the CPT metric.

Hopefully, Apple is able to fix the bug soon, and once it fixes the bug, will retroactively update the reports with the correct numbers over the affected time period. If not, then historic reporting over this time period will suffer, causing headaches for advertisers running trending or other analyses.

The Bottom Line: Apple's Search Ads platform has stopped reporting conversions; conversions are still reporting via MMPs.
